The Supreme Court on Friday gave Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal interim bail till June 1 for campaigning within the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta stated Kejriwal, arrested in a cash laundering case linked to the alleged excise coverage rip-off, should give up and return to jail on June 2.

The apex courtroom is listening to Kejriwal’s plea difficult Delhi High Court’s final month verdict upholding his arrest within the case.

The matter pertains to alleged corruption and cash laundering within the formulation and execution of the Delhi authorities’s now-scrapped excise coverage for 2021-22.
