Heavy rains lashed several components of Gujarat with some areas receiving greater than 200 mm showers in the final 30 hours, whereas rain-related incidents claimed the lives of 9 individuals over the previous two days in the state, an official stated. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy showers for remoted components of various districts on Saturday and lightweight to reasonable rain on Sunday and Monday, he stated.

As per the information shared by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), 37 talukas of the state obtained greater than 100 mm of rainfall in 30 hours ending at 12 pm on Friday. Vyara taluka of Tapi district obtained a staggering 299 mm of rainfall in 30 hours ending at 12 pm, it stated.

According to the information, Vyara was adopted by Junagadh metropolis (298 mm), Valod taluka of Tapi (288), Mahuva in Surat (256 mm), Jamnagar metropolis (236 mm), Bardoli of Surat (223 mm), Mendarda in Junagadh (207mm) and Dolvan in Tapi district (206 mm). Fifteen talukas obtained greater than 40 mm of rainfall between 6 am and 12 pm on Friday, whereas Jamnagar taluka of Jamnagar district obtained 177 mm of rainfall, which resulted in heavy waterlogging in Jamnagar metropolis in the identical interval, it acknowledged. 

In the forecast issued on Friday, the IMD has predicted heavy rains at remoted locations in Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, and Valsad districts on Saturday and lightweight to reasonable rain in completely different components of the state on Sunday and Monday.

Nine folks have misplaced their lives in rain-related incidents in the final two days, the SEOC launch acknowledged. Four youngsters have been killed in Panchmahal district and two in Anand in incidents of wall collapse on Thursday, it stated.

Apart from this, two males drowned in Jamnagar and Arvalli districts on Thursday, whereas a girl drowned in flood waters in Lathi taluka of Amreli district on Friday, the report stated.
