Noida International Airport’s inauguration date revealed, Jewar Airport to be transit hub, to cater to 50 lakh passenger

The Noida International Airport will be operational by next year. Yamuna Authority’s CEO Arun Veer Singh has revealed the Jewar Airport’s operational date in an interview. He said the airport — under construction around 75 kilometers away from the national capital Delhi — will cater to 50 lakh passengers per annum in the first year of its operation. The capacity will be increased every year. The construction of the Noida International Airport began in June 2021. It is expected to be finished in three years — which is by 2024.

He said the capacity of the Noida International Airport will be 50 lakh per day. The airport will become operational on October 1, he revealed. The airport is being built by the Zurich International Airport AG. Tata Group is also constructing the airport. The Zurich International Airport AG has bagged the contract to run the airport for the next 40 years.

The officer told Money Control that the construction of the airport will be completed by 30 September 2024. All international, domestic and cargo flights will operate from the first day.

The growth of the Noida International Airport will be 15 to 20 percent in the first phase. In the next three years, the capacity will increase to 3 crore passengers.
