Date:

After the separation from the case of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has said that he has not been removed from the post of zonal director of Mumbai NCB.

Wankhede told Zee News that he is and will remain the zonal director (ZD) of the Mumbai zone. That position has not been taken from him. He added that he had also demanded that the central agency should investigate the Aryan Khan case and the allegations of Nawab Malik, so it is good, the SIT will now investigate.

He further said that the operations he does regarding drugs will continue to be done. “I have not been attached to Delhi. My order to withdraw from this case has come yesterday. On Monday, DDG Jyaneshwar Singh is going to Mumbai again,” he said.

Sameer Wankhede also clarified that he was not the investigating officer (IO) of this case. “I had said in the writ petition in the court that the investigation of this case should be done by the Central Agency,” he said.

Significantly, the Delhi team will now investigate the Aryan Khan case, Sameer Khan case, Armaan Kohli case, Iqbal Kaskar case, Kashmir drug case and one other case. These cases belonged to the zone of Mumbai NCB earlier.

It may also be noted that Sanjay Singh will now investigate the Aryan Khan case. Sameer Wankhede has also parted ways with the case of Sameer Khan, son-in-law of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik.
