‘Completely protected’: Government responds to reports of CoWIN data breach (file picture)
Several media reports emerged on Monday claiming an enormous data breach in CoWIN (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network) portal. The reports recommended that the breach allowed entry to all private particulars that a person furnished on the portal so as to obtain the vaccine.
Now, the Health Ministry has reacted to the reports and rejected them. The authorities has mentioned that the Co-WIN portal of the Health Ministry is totally protected with safeguards for data privateness, ANI reported. It added that each one reports of data breaches are with none foundation and mischievous in nature. Moreover, it has requested CERT-In to look into this situation and submit a report.
