Reacting to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s visit to violence-hit Manipur, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned on Thursday that politicians shouldn’t attempt to take benefit when a state goes via a disturbed state of affairs. Speaking to reporters right here, Sarma mentioned, “Both the Central and state governments have been taking the necessary steps for restoring peace in Manipur.”

According to Sarma, there is no such thing as a want for another political individuals to go to Manipur as a result of solely the state authorities and the Centre can restore peace within the state. “Others will go and return within a day or two. No solution will come from their visits. It will only serve the purpose of grabbing media attention,” he mentioned.

Sarma additionally mentioned that in his two-day visit to Manipur, Rahul Gandhi cannot do something other than doing a little photo-op. “No political party or person should try to take advantage of a violence-hit state,” he mentioned.
