West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, on Friday, gave the Centre a seven-day ultimatum to clear all dues failing which the celebration would launch an enormous protest. Banerjee made these remarks throughout a programme at Raj Bhavan to rejoice the seventy fifth Republic Day.

Mamata Banerjee stated, ”If the central authorities doesn’t clear the funds, then we (TMC) will provoke an enormous protest.” According to the West Bengal authorities’s figures, the Centre owes the state Rs 9,330 crore below the PMAY, Rs 6,900 crore below MGNREGA, Rs 830 crore below National Health Mission, Rs 770 crore below PM Gram Sadak Yojna, Rs 350 crore below the Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs 175 crore for mid-Day Meals, in addition to cash below different schemes.

Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20 and mentioned the problem of pending central funds.

After the assembly, she stated Modi proposed that officers from the state and Centre can sit collectively and clear the problems.

Earlier this week, a crew of state authorities officers visited New Delhi and met their central counterparts.

According to officers, they submitted an in depth report on alleged irregularities within the 100-day work scheme and the measures taken to tackle them.

The delegation additionally met Union Ministry of Rural Development Secretary Shailesh Kumar Singh.

In a jibe on the Trinamool Congress supremo, senior BJP chief Rahul Sinha stated Banerjee has threatened to launch an agitation after her nephew Abhishek Banerjee’s threats to wage a sustained motion towards the Centre on the identical problem turned out to be a non-starter.
