Indian Railways to launch ‘Heritage Special’ train based on steam engine theme: Ashwini Vaishnaw (representational picture)
Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday introduced that railways will launch a particular train that may be run on Heritage routes throughout the nation. The minister stated that these might be referred to as heritage specials. He made the announcement after inspecting a train modified as a steam loco train on the MGR Central Railway Station in Chennai. Vaishnaw stated extra such trains can be launched on heritage routes.
Earlier on Saturday, Indian Railways have introduced that fares of AC chair automobiles and govt courses of all trains, together with Vande Bharat, might be lowered by up to 25 per cent, relying on occupancy. The fares may also rely on these of aggressive modes of transport.
The rail ministry has determined to delegate powers to principal chief business managers of railway zones to introduce discounted fare schemes in trains with AC seating. “This scheme shall be applicable in AC chair car and executive classes of all trains having AC seating accommodation, including Anubhuti and Vistadome coaches,” a Railway Board order acknowledged.
