The announcement was made a number of days after an assault on a National Investigation Agency (NIA) occurred in Bhupatinagar, West Bengal’s East Midnapore district. Mamata Banerjee claimed that the NIA was collaborating with the BJP when questioned concerning the incident. Banerjee stated,“Why did they raid at midnight? Did they’ve police permission? What does the BJP assume, that they will arrest each sales space agent? What proper does NIA have? They are doing all these to assist the BJP.
