NEW DELHI: Passenger automobile sales kicked off new fiscal on a flat observe with round 3.4 lakh models offered in April, impacted by the high base impact and muted demand as a result of ongoing common elections.
Dispatches of passenger autos from producers to sellers have been at 3.4 lakh models in April as in comparison with 3.3 lakh models within the year-ago interval, a rise of practically 3%.Major gamers Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors reported marginal growth of their home wholesales.
The flat growth witnessed in April is as a result of high base that the business had final 12 months, coupled with the affect of ongoing common elections, Maruti Suzuki India senior government officer, advertising & sales, Partho Banerjee stated.
“We have started on a very high base this year… Right now, the country is going through elections and there is a model code of conduct. During elections, the markets are a little muted,” he stated.
