Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who arrived on the spot, mentioned that Shimla Municipal Corporation had evacuated a number of individuals after cracks developed of their homes. “One body has been retrieved while efforts are on to recover the other,” he mentioned.

Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh triggering landslides, cloudbursts and blocked roads.The Chief Minister mentioned that yesterday 51 deaths had been reported within the state, at the moment 9 extra casualties have been reported. He mentioned that roads are blocked so the tutorial institutes will stay closed tomorrow.

Meanwhile, he urged individuals to leave their homes immediately if they see cracks inside their institutions. “I request everyone, wherever they see cracks in the house, they should vacate their houses. They will be provided full assistance from the administration, and when the house is damaged, financial assistance will also be given to build the house,” Sukhu mentioned.
