CSK’s defeat in Bengaluru could have marked Dhoni’s potential farewell from the IPL.

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and former England captain Michael Vaughan expressed their disappointment with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru players for failing to shake arms with MS Dhoni after his spectacular efficiency in Match 68 of the IPL 2024 on Saturday night time.

Bhogle and Vaughan believed that the RCB players missed a chance to point out respect to Dhoni, contemplating it may have been his closing innings and match within the IPL.

Although the 42-year-old has not formally introduced his future within the league, CSK’s defeat in Bengaluru could have marked Dhoni’s potential farewell from the IPL.

“It doesn’t matter. You win a World Cup final, but you still shake hands with the opposition. It’s one of the great things about our game, because symbolic of the fact that now our antagonism is over, we did not give an inch to each other but it was just a game,” Bhogle informed Cricbuzz.

Vaughan subsequently supplied his perspective on the matter.

“If there was ever a time for a group of players to show awareness, we don’t know, if that was MS Dhoni’s last game and those players have run around the ground doing handstands when all they need to do is wait, ‘the legend’s over there. We have to just go and shake his hand’.

“You shake arms after which do your cartwheels and stuff. I would not wish to be an RCB participant waking up tomorrow morning considering MS Dhoni has simply introduced his retirement and we did not have the decency to go and shake his hand first.

Following the defeat, it was noticed that Dhoni, alongside along with his teammates and coaches, was seated within the dugout. However, he promptly rose from his seat and proceeded to the dressing room. It was famous that he solely exchanged pleasantries with a member of the RCB assist employees post-match.
