India opts to bowl against Scotland as birthday boy Virat Kohli wins toss

India, who is all set to take on Scotland in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 win the toss and opt to field first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on November 5. The day is even more special with the birthday of skipper Virat Kohli. 

As for the clash, India makes one change – Shardul Thakur misses the match and Varun Chakaravarthy comes in. As for Scotland, they go in with the same squad.

If Scotland scores 160 and the Men in Blue chase it down in 11.3 overs, their Net Run Rate (NRR) will increase to +1.000. If they chase it down in 7.4 overs, they can even get their NRR past that of Afghanistan.

India will be playing in yet another must-win contest. Coming two days after thrashing Afghanistan, India will be eyeing to win it big and boost their net run-rate while hoping that other results go their way.

Despite the annihilation of Afghanistan, India’s semifinal prospects still remain hanging thanks to their back-to-back losses to Pakistan and New Zealand.

The situation remains as a do or die situation for Virat Kohli’s men as they head into their fourth match in the Super 12 stage.
