Delhi HC to hear tomorrow, PIL seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal from CM post

The Delhi High Court will hear a public curiosity litigation (PIL) praying for the removal of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from holding the post of chief minister of the federal government of NCT of Delhi on Thursday. 

The bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora is scheduled to hear the matter on Thursday. Recently, a plea acknowledged that Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of the Government of NCT of Delhi, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, within the cash laundering case associated to the alleged liquor coverage rip-off. 

Before the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate, the High Court of Delhi had additionally refused to go orders granting interim safety from coercive motion to him within the stated case. 

The plea acknowledged that after the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, Minister of Govt of NCT of Delhi Atishi gave interviews to numerous channels on March 21, stating and affirming that Arvind Kejriwal won’t resign from his post and, if wanted, will run the federal government from jail. 

She additional stated, “Arvind Kejriwal was the Delhi CM, is the CM and can proceed to stay the CM, he won’t resign, the plea learn. 

The plea filed by one Surjit Singh Yadav by lawyer Shashi Ranjan Kumar Singh acknowledged that the continuance of Arvind Kejriwal because the chief minister of the Government of NCT of Delhi after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate within the cash laundering case associated to the alleged liquor coverage rip-off has degraded the credibility and picture of the Government of NCT of Delhi within the eyes of most of the people.

The ED arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in reference to the Delhi Excise Policy case linked to a cash laundering case and remanded the subsequent day to the ED until March 28. The case pertains to alleged irregularities and cash laundering in framing and implementing the Delhi excise coverage case 2022, which was later scrapped.
