Delhi government to give free coaching, monthly stipend to over 15000 students- Here’s how to enroll

The Delhi government has initiated a new educational plan to help the weaker sections of society in the national capital. The government has decided to provide free coaching and a monthly stipend to over 15,000 students, as per a new initiative.

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has decided to resume its ‘Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana’, under which students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority backgrounds will be able to avail private coaching for civil services, SSC, banking, railways, JEE, NEET and other competitive exams.

Delhi minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, announcing this initiative, said, “Students belonging to economically and socially weaker sections of the society do not have access to private coaching. Under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal Ji, we came up with the scheme so that all students have equal opportunities to pursue their dreams.”

Apart from getting free coaching from as many as 46 empanelled institutions, the students will also get Rs 2,500 per month as a stipend which they can use for travel or purchasing study material. Gautam further announced that the government has an aim of providing this scheme to at least 15,000 students.

How to enroll for Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana

Students who wish to enroll in this scheme will be able to do so by applying to the institution of their choice in the prescribed format available on scstwelfare.delhigovt.nic.in. Candidates must note that they need to meet the eligibility criteria and make sure that seats are available for admission.

The e-district portal will only be accepting online applications for the programme till the end of December 2021. After successful admission, the institute will have to send a complete list of such admitted students to the Department within seven days from the start of the coaching programme.

Eligibility for Delhi government’s free coaching

This facility is only available for students who reside in Delhi and belong to SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories. They should also have passed Class 10 and 12 examinations from a school in Delhi. The annual family income should be less than Rs 8 lakhs.

The main documents required to enroll for this scheme are Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, or EWS Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, as applicable.
