The BJP is contesting on 148 meeting seats in Maharashtra, the very best amongst half a dozen main political events within the ruling and opposition camps, adopted by the Congress on 103 because the submitting of nominations ended on Tuesday.

Five seats got to different Mahayuti allies whereas no determination was taken on two segments. In the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Congress is contesting on 103 seats adopted by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) on 89 and NCP (SP) on 87 seats. Six seats got to different MVA allies, whereas there was no clarity on three meeting segments.

Nearly 8,000 candidates, together with these from main political events in ruling in addition to opposition camps, have filed their nominations for the 288 meeting seats.

As many as 7,995 candidates have filed 10,905 nominations with the Election Commission (EC) for the November 20 polls, in accordance to a press release issued by the workplace of the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

Filing of nominations by candidates started on October 22 and the method ended on October 29. The verification and scrutiny of nomination papers will happen on October 30 and the final date for withdrawal of candidatures is November 4 (until 3 pm).

Polling will happen on November 20 and votes will probably be counted three days later. The ruling Mahayuti and the opposition MVA are the primary contenders for energy.
