The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot for questioning on Saturday in reference to a money-laundering case linked to the now-scrapped excise coverage for the capital, official sources mentioned.

Gahlot, an AAP MLA from Najafgarh, is the minister for transport, dwelling, and regulation within the Delhi authorities led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been arrested within the case by the federal company.

The sources mentioned Gahlot has been requested to seem for questioning within the case and get his assertion recorded below the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

He is predicted to be questioned with regard to the formulation of the coverage as he was a part of the Group of Ministers (GoM), together with former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and former city improvement minister Satyendar Jain, on the preparation and implementation of the brand new liquor scheme for 2021-22.

AAP leaders Sisodia and Sanjay Singh had been arrested by the ED within the case earlier and they’re in judicial custody. The AAP and its leaders have repeatedly denied the fees of wrongdoing, with Kejriwal alleging that the case was constructed by the BJP-led Centre to create a ”smokescreen” that the AAP is a corrupt occasion.
