With the Apple iPhone Xs out in the open, attention is turning to what Google may be about to reveal at its hardware event on October 9th.
A series of leaks have seemed to confirm the imminent arrival of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones that’ll go toe-to-toe with Apple and Samsung.
Now Google appears to have let slip what colours we can expect for the new phone.
A teaser website for the new phone was picked up by tech site Droid Life. It showed an outline of the new phone with the ‘G’ logo at the bottom.
When you click on the image, it rotates through three different colours: black, white and ‘mint’ – a very light green.
Last year’s Pixel 2 was sold in either black, white or blue – so it appears the company will stick to a three-colour approach this year.
‘The website also color blocks the top portion of the phone to represent the two-tone look we’ve gotten used to in the Pixel line. And remember, we expect a glass back this time that should feature wireless charging,’ writes Droid Life.
Apple has taken a similar approach by making the iPhone Xs only available in three colours. Although the also-announced iPhone Xr comes in a choice of six colours.
Previous leaks have suggested that Google will be pulling out all the stops with this latest smartphone.
It will boast top-tier specs, the latest version of Android pre-installed and Google will throw a pair of headphones into the box as well.
The phone will come in two sizes: a regular 5.5-inch Pixel 3 and then the larger Pixel 3 XL that’ll have a massive 6.71-inch screen with a notch at the top.
We don’t yet know what the pricing of these phones will be but Google has repeatedly confirmed it views these phones as premium pieces of kit. So they’re not likely to be cheap.
