29 individuals, together with two kids, survived the crash and have been hospitalised, the report claimed citing Azerbaijan’s Emergency Ministry. As per Russian information businesses, the Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 was on its route from Baku to Grozny in Russia. However, it was rerouted because of fog.

Meanwhile, a viral video of the incident is doing rounds on the web. In the clip, the aircraft may be noticed taking a nosedive and moments later, it was seen crashing near the airport. 

 

 

Preliminary stories declare that the aircraft requested touchdown at an alternate airport earlier than the accident because of heavy fog in Grozny, in accordance with an Al Jazeera’s report.

“Unfortunately, Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev was forced to leave St Petersburg (where he had a summit). Putin has already called him and expressed his condolences in connection with the crash of the Azerbaijani plane in Aktau,” Al Jazeera quoted Kremlin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as saying.

“We deeply sympathise with those who lost their relatives and friends in this plane crash and wish a speedy recovery to all those who managed to survive,” he additional mentioned.
