Former UFC star Melvin Guillard arrested for alleged involvement in bar fight in Denver

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star Melvin Guillard has been arrested by police in Denver, Colorado after surveillance video surfaced of him knocking out a man in a bar in “The Mile High City.”

See it all go down here.

A week after the video surfaced and a warrant for his arrest was issued, police officials apprehended Melvin when he showed up to a court date to answer for a previous alleged assault on his former mistress.

According to TMZ, Melvin was arrested this past April after he allegedly choked his mistress upon request he leave his wife for her. Per the report, “The Young Assassin” snapped and proceeded to assault her. So when he showed up to court, all police had to do was cuff him and book him.

Of course, Melvin is innocent until proven guilty.

As for his latest transgression, Melvin was charged with second and third degree assault and remains in custody as of this writing and is being held on $5,000 bail. This is just Melvin’s latest run-in with Johnny Law, as the power-punching pugilist was arrested back in 2008 in Houston, Texas for violating probation.

Plus there was this.

Having competed 22 times inside the UFC’s Octagon, and four times for Bellator MMA, Melvin was last seen getting knocked out by Takanori Gomi this past July (see it here).

The loss was his fifth in a row and eight of nine overall.
