No. 16 Florida is one week removed from an upset victory over Florida and one week away from a showdown with No. 2 Georgia, making Saturday’s trip to Nashville to play Vanderbilt a perfect trap game. The Commodores jumped out to a 21-3 lead at home, and tensions boiled over on the Florida sideline before halftime.
With under two minutes remaining in the half, Florida’s Freddie Swain returned a punt past midfield – but the return was called back due to a brutal open field block that drew a targeting call and ejection for Florida’s James Houston IV. Florida coach Dan Mullen erupted on an official over the call, and Mullen and Florida assistant Todd Grantham got in a shouting match with Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason.
Mason was near the Florida sideline to check on an injured player. Twitter roasted Mullen over the altercation.
