UK plant strike: Tata Steel plans legal action


MUMBAI: Tata Steel plans to problem the validity of its UK unit’s commerce union‘s name for an indefinite strike from July 8 over its transfer to shut sure elements of the operations on the Port Talbot website.
The firm needs to shut two blast furnaces in Port Talbot and swap to decrease carbon electrical arc furnaces. The closure will result in axing of two,800 jobs and the swap to electrical arc furnaces – a proposal backed by 500 million kilos of govt cash – will assist Tata Steel to show round its loss-making UK operations.
