NEW DELHI: Telecom operators, together with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, have launched new voice and SMS-only plans for prepaid customers in India. The transfer assumes significance as telecom regulator TRAI, final month, had amended tariff guidelines to mandate cell service suppliers to concern a separate plan for voice calls and SMS for purchasers who don’t require knowledge.
Airtel has launched a new Rs 499 plan, which provides limitless voice calls and 900 SMS with 84 days validity. Another providing, the Rs 1,959 plan, would provide prepaid customers limitless voice calls and 3,600 SMS and comes with a validity of three hundred and sixty five days.
Jio too has unveiled two plans. According to info on the Jio web site, the Rs 458 plan – with 84 days validity – provides limitless voice calls and 1,000 SMSs. The Rs 1,958 plan provides limitless voice calls and packs in 3,600 SMSs with three hundred and sixty five days pack validity.
Vodafone Idea’s new Rs 1,460 plan provides limitless voice calls and 100 SMS with a validity of 270 days.
