Jio Platforms partners Taiwanese chip designer MediaTek for electric 2-Wheelers IoT platform

NEW DELHI: Jio Platforms is broadening its scope within the Indian automotive market as the corporate has partnered Taiwanese fabless semiconductor firm MediaTek for a foray into the two-wheeler expertise platform market.
MediaTek and Jio Platforms’ subsidiary JioThings on Thursday collectively launched an indigenously-made Internet of Things (IoT) platform for the electric two-wheeler market and this may present Smart Digital Cluster and Smart Module.
“Jio Things is pleased to collaborate with MediaTek for the mobility industry with our 4G smart android digital cluster, app suite and smart module solutions,” Jio Platforms president and CEO Kiran Thomas said.
MediaTek also sounded bullish on the new venture. “This cluster aligns with our vision for the future of 2-wheeler smart dashboards,” firm Senior VP and GM of Intelligent Devices Business Group Jerry Yu mentioned.
The good digital cluster and working system will allow real-time information analytics, customizable interfaces, voice recognition for management IoT-enabled charging infrastructure, good battery administration system, amongst different options, the businesses mentioned.
The platform will present entry to ‘Jio Automotive App Suite’ which incorporates companies like Jio Voice Assistant, JioSaavn, JioPages, JioXploR and so forth to 2-W EV customers.
MediaTek, General Manager, IoT enterprise unit, CK Wang mentioned that the answer — collectively developed with JioThings — will use MediaTek’s chipsets in addition to IoT applied sciences.
