US-based semiconductor firm Micron Technology on Friday stated it’s all equipped for organising India’s first chip facility in Gujarat, which can create 5,000 direct and 15,000 oblique jobs in coming years.
“We estimate that our project here in Gujarat will create nearly 5,000 direct jobs plus an additional 15,000 jobs in the community over the coming years,” stated Sanjay Mehrotra, President and CEO of Micron Technology.
Speaking on the SemiconIndia 2023 occasion in (*6*), Mehrotra stated the funding is anticipated to catalyse different investments, improve manufacturing and job creation within the semiconductor area. Micron’s funding can be up to $825 million over the 2 phases of the mission.
