IT’S NOT A GREAT SITUATION:
To those who say Sitkowski isn’t ready: It’s tough to argue the point through three games.
It’s clear he has tremendous physical gifts. No one can question his toughness, especially after he bounced back like nothing happened after being whacked around like a piñata at Ohio State. No one is going to outwork the kid, and all indications are no one wants it, and wants it at Rutgers, more than him.

But seven interceptions in three games (and it’s not even three full games) and three picks returned for touchdowns is not good. Nor is a completion percentage that is currently sub-50 percent.
People need to stop calling for a redshirt. Sitkowski has already played in three games, and even if he were to head to the bench, it’s hard to come up with a good plan for all involved that sees him play in just one more game this fall. The kid is going to play.
At this point, though, it’s worth considering if he needs a breather of some length before that happens again. But a full assessment suggests that is not what’s best for Rutgers.
