Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan starrer action-thriller ‘WAR’ is raking in the moolah at the box office as it clocked an impressive Rs 11 crores on the eighth day of its release. According to a report on BoxooficeIndia.com, the film now has an impressive total of Rs 217.50 crore nett.
After a record-breaking start and a consecutive smooth run at the ticket window, the film is now powering its way to becoming the highest-grossing film of 2019.
The film minted Rs 51.50 crore on the first day followed by Rs 22.50 crore on the second, Rs 21 crore on the third, Rs 27.50 crore on the fourth, Rs 36 crore on the fifth, Rs 20.50 crore on the sixth and Rs 27.50 crore on the seventh day.
A brief analysis of all the films which crossed Rs 200-crore mark in 2019 sees ‘WAR’ securing the first position followed by ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Bharat’, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and ‘Mission Mangal.’
‘War’ created seven new records including that for a Gandhi Jayanti release, a film released in Navratri and the highest-grossing first 3-day for Hrithik, Tiger and director Siddharth Anand. The major feat the film achieved on Tuesday is that it surpassed the collection of the Hollywood release ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The Marvel film which released earlier this year had remained unbeatable at many fronts. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ had collected a total of Rs 25.48 crore on its first Tuesday. Apart from ‘War’, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ is the only film released this year to feature in the list of top Tuesdays. The film collected around a little over Rs 16 crore.
The film has also become the first movie to score a double century for Hrithik and Tiger. The film that also features Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles, boasts of jaw-dropping action sequences. The film released on October 2.
