Top seed Amin allowed to play:

The top seed in the tournament – Iran’s Amin Tabatabaei – was on the verge of being barred from the competition after having failed to turn up for his sixth round clash against Israeli Or Bronstien on Saturday.
When the first list of round 7 pairings arrived, Amin’s name was missing from the list. However, the Iranian team management met up with the Appeals Committee to sort things out.
“After the incident on Saturday, we didn’t want Amin to be part of the competition. However, the Iranian delegation had a meeting with the Appeals Committee and it was then decided to rework the round 7 pairings and Amin’s name was included,” said an official.
Amin – who played with white – defeated Ganzorig Amartuvshin in 58 moves. Amin has 4 points to his name and will be taking on Raja Harshit in the 8th round.
