NFL picks: Predictions for Seahawks vs. Bears | Monday Night Football (9/17/18)

Week 2 of the 2018 NFL season will feature a marquee Monday Night Football game on Monday, September 17, 2018 when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. EST on ESPN.

The Seahawks are led by head coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson, and linebacker Bobby Wagner. Seattle is coming off a Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Bears are led by head coach Matt Nagy, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, and pass rusher Khalil Mack. Chicago lost a close Week 1 game to the Green Bay Packers.

Here’s how our experts see the game playing out.

Matthew Stypulkowski: The Bears looked surprisingly competitive in their opener against the Packers, but it’s tough to buy into Mitchell Trubisky until he really starts to prove it. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks rebound from their Week 1 disappointment here. Seahawks 21, Bears 20.

Ryan Dunleavy: What a gut punch loss for the Bears against the Packers. The Seahawks knowing something about that. (See: Super Bowl XLIX.) Bears 21, Seahawks 16.

Darryl Slater: Really interesting matchup, as Russell Wilson tries to avoid being eaten alive by Khalil Mack, the Bears’ new defensive star. Rough loss for Seattle in the opener at Denver. Despite Mack’s presence, the Bears aren’t a very good team. Seahawks 28, Bears 21.

Zack Rosenblatt: The Bears had a soul-crushing loss to the Packers on Sunday night, but they have the roster construction to bounce back. Now a porous Seahawks offensive line will have to deal with Khalil Mack. As the kidnapper said in “Taken” …. good luck. Bears 21, Seahawks 10.

Joe Giglio: Chicago looked great for a half last week, and Seattle is on its second straight road trip to start the year. Despite that, I can’t turn down more than three points with the better quarterback in the matchup. Seahawks 23, Bears 20.
