Matt Hardy says he has wrapped it up on the live event loop.
Since announcing in August that his lower back and pelvis have begun fusing together, former ten-time WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy has been sending out cryptic messages playing up that he is on his last legs in terms of the time he has left in the pro wrestling game.
For the majority of 2018 Matt Hardy has been associated with Bray Wyatt whether the two were feuding or holding the RAW Tag Team Championships and last night at a WWE Live Event in Corpus Christi, Texas ahead of today’s ‘Hell In Cell’ PPV in San Antonio, Hardy teamed up with Bray Wyatt and once their match came to a close, Matt Hardy jumped onto Twitter and noted that he has fulfilled his last advertised live event commitment and told those who follow him on social media to continue supporting the former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt as Wyatt embarks on his post-‘Deleters Of Worlds’ journey in WWE.
Shortly after Hardy commented on the picture that was taken of him and Bray Wyatt, a video was uploaded to his YouTube channel entitled ‘Time To Go Home’ where Hardy announced that it was time for him to go home and that last night’s live event in Corpus Christi was likely the last time that fans will see Woken Matt in a WWE ring.
“Thank you for taking the time to capture this. I just wanted to tell you, I’ve enjoyed working with you on live events.” Matt told the individual who was recording the video. “I just want to take a moment, and I want to address the WWE Universe. All of the Woken Warriors, all of the Hardy Boyz fans, all the Mattitude followers, all those people who’ve allowed me to live my dream for so many years. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do and I got to do it at the hightest level for 26 years, and I’ll never forget the reaction the WWE Universe gave us at WrestleMania 33 upon returning – it was truly one of the greatest moments of my career.” Hardy reflected. “WrestleMania 34 was a great moment – winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, and I got to bring my creation, the Ultimate Deletion to RAW in the main event slot. A lot of cool stuff I’ve got to do, and there’s been a lot of speculation for quite a while online if I’m going to be wrestling any longer or not and… WWE, fortunately they let me fulfill all my advertised commitments but tonight in Corpus Christi, this was the last advertised commitment I had and, I never say never or as Woken Matt Hardy would say, ‘NEVAH say Nevah’, but tonight here in Corpus Christi is most likely the last time you’ll ever see Woken Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.” Matt was then asked what’s next for him, “I have two young kids and a wife… its time for me to go… its time for me to go home.”
Matt’s forever tag-team partner Jeff will be in a Hell In A Cell match tonight at the ‘Hell In A Cell’ PPV against Randy Orton.
