Donte Moncrief’s apparent touchdown was only the start of the action for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.
In the third quarter of Sunday’s game, Moncrief leaped and hauled in a pass over Bills cornerback Levi Wallace for what looked to be a go-ahead score. But as the two stayed tangled and an official repeatedly blew his whistle, teammates ran over to join the fray.
The action spilled over to the edge of the field near the stands, where Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette threw multiple punches at Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson, who responded in kind. The two remained engaged as Jaguars running back Carlos Hyde and Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes stepped in.
Both Fournette and Lawson were ejected and appeared to have words for one another in the tunnel on their way out.
Moncrief’s touchdown was overturned on review and offsetting penalties were issued. The Bills held firm on the series before Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo missed a 42-yard field goal.
