Eagles inactives: Rasul Douglas active but may not start, and Eagles very light at CB

2:51 p.m.: The Eagles really needed a big drive to start the second half and they didn’t get it. They picked up one first down on 3rd-and-long but couldn’t get another. They punted are are still down eight with 12:21 left in the third quarter.

2:31 p.m.: Malcolm Jenkins got an interception at the end of the first half to basically take a field goal try away from the Giants.

The Eagles get the ball back in the second half with the slightest bit of momentum. They Eagles aren’t playing well, but they’re not completely out of this game, which is pretty amazing. They were outgained 346-159 in the first half.

Halftime: Giants 19, Eagles 11

2:09 p.m.: The Eagles are cooked.

Saquon Barkley broke a couple tackles and went on a 51-yard touchdown run to extend the Giants lead. This Eagles team is a mess.

Giants 19, Eagles 3

2:04 p.m.: That was weird. The Eagles finally got some momentum going and they had a weird play on third down where Wentz kept it. Then on fourth down, Doug decided to kick a 42-yard field goal instead of going for it. Don’t know what’s going on. No juice in this stadium. The Eagles don’t deserve any either.

Giants 12, Eagles 3

1:36 p.m.: That was an ugly first quarter. The Eagles were outgained 167-42. The Giant had 9 first downs and the Eagles had just three.

Giants 9, Eagles 0

1:28 p.m.: Well … this isn’t going great. At least the Eagles finally got a third-down stop to force the Giants to kick a field goal. That was after the G-men moved down the field 87 yards on 10 plays to get in the red zone. There’s 3:13 left in the first quarter.

On the Eagles’ first drive, they decided to punt on 4th-and-5 from the Giants’ 47-yard line. That doesn’t seem to make sense and doesn’t seem to fit with that aggressive mindset Pederson always talks about.

Giants 10, Eagles 0

1:11 p.m.: The Giants had no trouble moving down the field on the first drive of the game. They faced a key 3rd-and-9 and gave up a gain of 10 yards during the drive. The touchdown was a 13-yard pass to Saquon Barkley. That was too easy. Luckily for the Eagles, they had a penalty on the extra point so the Giants went for two and failed.

Giants 6, Eagles 0

12:53 p.m.: It was a late-arriving crowd today. Not much juice in the stadium, which is easy to understand for a team between two teams with a combined seven wins.

But there was some fun stuff pregame. Here’s what I saw:

12:09 p.m.: No love lost for Odell Beckham Jr. and Eagles fans.

11:33 a.m.: Rasul Douglas (knee, ankle) is active, but it sounds like he’ll be an emergency player. That means a bunch of inexperienced guys starting. Here’s the full list of inactive players:

Avonte Maddox (knee, ankle)
Jalen Mills (foot)
Sidney Jones (hamstring)
Darren Sproles (hamstring)
Jordan Hicks (calf)
Nate Sudfeld
Matt Pryor

11:18 a.m.: We’re getting closer to kickoff for today’s game. Here are some scenes from the early warmups:

9:30 a.m.: Not much of a surprise, but it wasn’t extremely crowded at the tailgate on my walk into the stadium. This feels like a game pinning a 3-7 opponent against a 4-6.

But this is such a huge game for the Eagles. If they win, they’re back in the playoff hunt. If they lose, the season is basically over and we’re going to keep finding new rock bottom.

8 a.m.: Good morning, everyone! Huge game today in South Philly. The Eagles (4-6) need to get a win over the Giants (3-7) if they want to keep their season alive.

The Cowboys helped their cause on Thanksgiving, beating Washington. So if the Eagles can win their next two games (vs. Giants, vs. Redskins), and the Cowboys lost to the Saints next weekend, there would be a three-way tie atop the NFC East. That’s achievable, but the Eagles have to prove they can win one single game. They’ve lost two since the bye week and have lost three straight at home.
