Best signs from ESPN’s ‘College Gameday’ broadcast in Ann Arbor

Journeying from South Dakota

Andy Diede has been a Michigan fan since the 1960s, but the South Dakota native had never been to the state of Michigan until this weekend.

Diede, who was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, was gifted tickets from his kids.

Along with his wife and kids, Diede’s best friend Tom Herges came on the trek — serving as the driver.

“He’s never been to the Big House, and he owns everything that’s blue and yellow,” Herges said.

Diede, who had an uncle that lived in Dearborn, has field passes for Saturday’s game. Their family sign reads, “Hotel: $600. Gas: $200. Miles to the Big House: 860. Making dad’s dream come true: Priceless.”

“I’m looking forward to it. It’s been great so far,” Diede said. “It’s always been a dream of mine to come up here to Michigan.”
